Naviextras Toolbox error message: "Unsuccessful authentication"

This article provides steps you can take in case the Naviextras Toolbox doesn't recognise your navigation system, or when it displays the "Unsuccessful authentication" error message.

Different navigation systems are compatible with different Toolbox versions. When you try to connect your navigation system to the Toolbox and receive the 'Unsuccessful authentication' error message, it might mean that you are using the wrong version of the Toolbox.

1. Ensure you are using the correct Toolbox version

Please ensure you are using the correct Toolbox version by first selecting your model on https://www.naviextras.com/shop/portal/downloads and then downloading the Toolbox version on offer.

Kindly note that the older Toolbox version is compatible with Windows only. The newer version is compatible with Windows and MacOS.

2. Connection issues:

If the Toolbox still does not recognise your device, please check your antivirus and firewall settings to ensure that Toolbox is allowed to access the internet. Additionally, please make sure you are using a supported operating system.

3. Need help?

Should your problem persist, please contact our Customer Care team who will be happy to assist you. Please include the following files for analysis:

  • A screenshot of any error messages you may see in the Toolbox

  • A .zip copy of the "license" folder, found on the map SD card or USB stick.

  • A .zip copy of the Toolbox log folder, found here: C:/users/USERNAME/AppData/roaming/naviextras/workingdir/log
