How to find a firmware update for your navigation system
Naviextras provides navigation software and map updates, but does not provide firmware updates. If you need to update your navigation system's firmware, you will need to contact the manufacturer or an authorised dealership.
Where to find firmware updates
The availability of firmware updates depends on your navigation system.
Aftermarket navigation systems
If your navigation system was purchased separately and was not originally installed in your vehicle:
- Visit the official website of your navigation system's manufacturer.
- Look for the Support or Downloads section.
- Check whether a firmware update is available for your model.
Factory-installed navigation systems
If your navigation system was originally installed in your vehicle by the car manufacturer, please contact an authorised dealership for information about available firmware updates and installation instructions.
What is the difference between firmware and map updates?
- Firmware updates update the system's built-in software and may improve its performance or functionality. These updates are provided by the manufacturer.
- Map updates refresh the road and location information used by your navigation system. These are available through Naviextras for supported systems.
Please note that firmware updates are not provided through the Naviextras Toolbox.
