How to get map updates for your Becker or Falk navigation system

Free lifetime map updates (LMU) are no longer available for Becker and Falk navigation systems. However, you can still purchase and install map updates for supported models using the Content Manager application.

1. Why are free lifetime map updates no longer available?

United Navigation GmbH, the company which manufactured Becker and Falk navigation systems, entered insolvency proceedings in 2017.

As a result, the Lifetime Map Update (LMU) service ended on 29 March 2018.

Since that date, free lifetime map updates have no longer been available through Content Manager.

We understand that this change may be disappointing. However, paid map updates remain available for supported navigation systems.

2. How to purchase map updates

You can purchase map updates for supported Becker and Falk models using either the Content Manager application or the Becker map update website.

Option 1: Purchase through Content Manager

  1. Connect your Becker or Falk navigation system to your computer.
  2. Open Content Manager and log in to your account.
  3. Go to the Catalogue section.
  4. Browse the available map updates for your system.
  5. Select the update you want to purchase.
  6. Complete your purchase and follow the on-screen instructions to install the update.

Option 2: Purchase on the website

  1. Visit the Becker map update website.
  2. Select your navigation system's model or device group.
  3. Browse the available map updates.
  4. Select the update you want and complete your purchase.
  5. Follow the instructions provided to activate and install your purchased maps using Content Manager.

Please note: Some map packages may only be available through the Content Manager application, as it can recognise your connected navigation system and display compatible content.

3. How often are new maps available?

New map updates are generally released up to twice per year, depending on availability.

You can check which updates are currently available for your navigation system through Content Manager.

  • Paid map updates remain available for supported models.
  • The availability of updates depends on your navigation system and the available map content.
  • Content Manager is required to download and install map updates.
