How to import your own POI's or routes

OWN POI

If you would like to import your own POI's onto your navigation system, we suggest you do so using the Naviextras Toolbox.

Availability of this feature depends on:

• the Toolbox version you are using
• the device model you have

Not all Toolbox versions or devices support custom POI import.

First, please save the POI's in .kml format somewhere on your computer. Once you have done so, click on the ‘Extras’ tab in the Naviextras Toolbox, where you will see the option to transfer POI contents onto your navigation device.

When prompted, locate the folder you saved your POI data in. The Toolbox will copy them into the appropriate location on your system.

POI’s can be loaded by selecting: ‘Find - Find Places - Custom Search - In a City’. Enter the name of the city where the POI’s are, scroll all the way down, and find your custom POI’s at the bottom of the list.

OWN ROUTE

If you would like to import your own custom routes onto your device, you can do so manually. Please save the routes in .kml format somewhere on your computer.

Please then open your device flash memory or map SD card using Windows, and locate the ‘content’ folder. Inside this folder, create a folder called ‘userdata’. Inside this folder, create a folder called ‘route’. Any .kml files placed in this folder will appear as routes in the navigation software.

Custom routes can be loaded by selecting: ‘My Route - More - Load route’.

We strongly recommend that you make a backup of your system using the Toolbox prior to making any manual modifications to its file structure.
