The Mazda Update Toolbox does not recognise the connected SD card

2. Check whether your navigation system is provided by NNG

If the Mazda Update Toolbox does not recognise your SD card, you should first verify whether your device uses NNG navigation software.

Please follow these steps:

  1. Insert the SD card into your computer.
  2. Open a file browser (File Explorer on Windows, Finder on macOS).
  3. Check the folders located on the SD card.

What the folder names mean

  • If you see a folder named telenav_resources:
    • Your navigation is not provided by NNG.
    • It is likely provided by another company, possibly Telenav.
    • In this case, please contact the navigation manufacturer or an authorised Mazda dealership for information about map updates.
  • If you do not see the telenav_resources folder, but you do see a license folder:
    • Your device may be using NNG software.
    • We will need to check your license folder to confirm compatibility.

To help us verify your device model, please create a ZIP file of the license folder and attach it to your support request.

 

3. How to create a ZIP file of the license folder

3.1 Creating a ZIP on Windows

  1. Right‑click the license
  2. Select Send to.
  3. Click Compressed (zipped) folder.
  4. A ZIP file will appear in the same location. The name will usually be zip.

3.2 Creating a ZIP on macOS

  1. Right‑click (or Control‑click) the license folder in Finder.
  2. Select Compress "license".
  3. A file named zip will appear in the same directory.

Once created, please attach the ZIP file when submitting your support request.

The ZIP file allows us to:

  • Verify whether your device model is supported
  • Check if the SD card contains the required navigation files
  • Confirm whether the Mazda Update Toolbox is compatible with your unit
